This robust document includes recommendations organized in a table format, or clinical matrix, using the Normative Model to make it an easy reference tool. This is the work of a diverse group of clinicians and individuals with personal experience with amputation and limb difference over the last year. CAPTE has evaluative criteria for prosthetics content in doctoral entry level physical therapy programs, designed to prepare students to achieve educational outcomes required for initial practice of physical therapy. The 7D elements are provided to support faculty and programs with examples to demonstrate the required standard elements for accreditation. The recommendations made in the curricular guidelines have been adapted to be consistent with evidence where it exists, but the reader is cautioned that not all of the document is supported by evidence from the literature. Tables include content related to limb difference curricular content, prosthetic fundamentals for the lower and upper limbs, a foundational science matrix assumed to be achieved prior to this content, as well as a glossary, appendix and legislative and regulatory considerations. References are provided to be supportive as a starting place, but are not an exhaustive list.
