Join us for an engaging discussion about “A Core Set of Outcome Measures to Assess Physical Function for Adults Participating in Physical Therapist Treatment in the Hospital: A Clinical Practice Guideline”. We will briefly discuss the development process, introduce the core set of outcome measures and allow the opportunity for discussion with authors of the CPG.

Objectives: 

  • Participants will understand the systematic review and CPG development process used for the Core Outcome Measures CPG.
  • Participants will explain which outcome measures are part of the core measures and which outcome measures are supplemental to the Core. 
  • Participants will apply their knowledge of the Core Outcome Measures CPG to clinical cases inthe acute hospital environment.

Caitlyn Crandall

PT, DPT

Dr. Caitlyn Crandall is a Board-Certified Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Clinical Specialist and a Doctor of Physical Therapy graduate from Sage Graduate School in Troy, NY. She completed an acute care residency and served as a senior physical therapist at NYU Langone Health before joining UNC Health as a Clinical Specialist in the Cardiac ICU. Passionate about patient-centered care, she is also a Registered Yoga Teacher, exploring ways to bring the healing and mindfulness of yoga into the intensive care setting.

Lindsey Fresenko

PT, DPT, PhD

Dr. Lindsey Fresenko is an Assistant Professor at the University of Toledo where she leads the acute care and pulmonary content. She received her Doctor of Physical Therapy from Youngstown State University and completed an Acute Care Residency at Memorial Hermann in Houston, TX. During residency, she established a passion for treating critically ill patients which led her to pursue a PhD in Rehabilitation and Health Sciences at the University of Kentucky. Dr. Fresenko's scholarly interests are centered around patients who survive critical illness and how social determinants of health and health disparities are related to recovery, healthcare service utilization and long-term outcomes.
