A webinar on oncologic emergencies is a valuable educational opportunity for healthcare professionals, particularly those in oncology, emergency medicine, and critical care. Oncologic emergencies are acute, life-threatening conditions that arise in cancer patients due to the disease itself or its treatment. These include metabolic crises like hypercalcemia and tumor lysis syndrome, hematologic complications such as febrile neutropenia and disseminated intravascular coagulation, as well as structural issues like spinal cord compression and superior vena cava syndrome.
