This webinar will highlight the roles of the physical and occupational therapist within the interdisciplinary team of patients undergoing hematopoietic stem cell transplant (HSCT). Therapists will outline the acute care rehab team’s contributions within NYU Langone Health’s standardized HSCT rehabilitation program, addressing patient needs from pre-transplant through post-engraftment. Topics include evidence-based outcome measures, exercise prescription protocols, interdisciplinary coordination, and management of common HSCT-related complications such as fatigue, deconditioning, pancytopenia, and infection precautions. The session will also explore the benefits of group activities like exercise classes and patient education workshops.
